For landlords and property managers

Answer in public. Ask for a fix. Never pay.

RentORNot.net sells nothing to businesses. Responding and disputing are free, and every request is handled against the same content policy the reviews follow.

1

Respond to a review

Open the review on your business page and choose Respond as the business. Your response appears under the review once the editor has read it. Give a role ("Owner", "Property manager"), not a name, plus a private email address the editor can use to confirm you speak for the business.

2

Dispute or ask for a takedown

If a review shows personal information, names an employee, accuses someone of a crime, was not written by a tenant or applicant, or states something false as fact, tell the editor on the dispute form. The review stays up while it is checked and is removed if it breaks the policy.

A profile that should not be here

If a profile names a private person rather than a business, or is not a rental business at all, use the dispute form from that profile's page. It is removed with its reviews when the editor confirms it.

What a business should know

Who decides?
One editor at RentORNot.net reads every review, response and request. The site has no paid tiers for businesses and takes no advertising from them: the one banner on public pages carries WeldonPC’s own ads, and it never touches a review.
Will you tell me who wrote a review?
No. Reviewers are not named on the site, and RentORNot.net does not hand out what little it keeps (a one-way code of the sending connection, used against spam) except where the law requires it.
Can I offer tenants something for good reviews?
No. Reviews written for pay, discounts or any reward break the policy and are removed.
